That would be the British version. In Sweden, it's an

Too many doors. I think this is actually some sort of coupe, but with a bigger back end. I have no idea what to call this...

Coupe is 2 doors. I was thinking a shooting brake was just a sporty wagon.

I wouldn’t, but Mercedes calls this a shooting brake so I guess it’s ok.

If that isn’t a wagon then I don’t know what to believe.
It is right to want that car.

Technically, a coupe can have as many doors as it wants, as long as the roofline is chopped (eye of the beholder). But I believe a shooting brake must have 2 doors by definition, along with a wagonlike rear. You know, for all your guns. BEFORE OBAMAHILLARY TAKES THEM AWAY.

Technically a couple is only supposed to have two seats, but marketing doesn’t care what definitions are.

Mercedes is, once again, wrong

No.
Two doors, vertical hatch, certainly not something built with gated communities, the Wealthy Living parking lot, and Saturday morning soccer matches in mind.

I think the contemporary meaning of shooting-brake is a 2-door wagon. Not always I guess, but it is one of those “I know it when I see it,” situations. Apparently back in the day it was more-or-less interchangeable with station wagon but that isn’t the case anymore.
The Concept Estate would be a shooting-brake, but not the V90 itself

There’s a term for these already; Wagon

That is definitely not a shooting brake.

Too many doors, but, they could take a page from AMC and call it a Sportabout.

Too many doors to be a shooting brake. No matter, it’s gorgeous. I want one.

How about “wagon”?
![]() 09/18/2016 at 19:39 |

This is the exact definition of a wagon. 4 doors, long rear, 3 sets of side windows. Wagon confirmed
Shooting brakes always have 2 doors, no more.
